How many of you wanted your own car when you got your drivers license? Plenty I’ll bet. How many of you got a job and saved up the money that your earnt to go towards buying your first car?
You had a goal that was really bloody important to you and you did what you needed to do to achieve that.
Working a part time job whilst you are at school and missing out on certain social events with your friends isn’t easy but you do it because you want that car.
You are able to buy the car that you have dreamt about because you have been prepared to put in the hard yards to earn the money.
What next…. don’t forget there is still money needed for petrol, tires, servicing, insurance, and any other extras you might like (awesome new stereo). So you still need to keep that job to be able to pay for all those things. But you don’t mind because you are super happy that you have your car and the sense of freedom that goes with it.
Your families and friends congratulate you when you are able to buy your car because they know how tough it has been for you. The job you have worked might not have been the greatest, you might have had to endure rude customers, long hours and have been upset at having to work and miss out on birthdays or other milestone events.
How badly you want something, how much you desire it, will always be the driving force behind what you are prepared to do to achieve it.
It always amazes me as to how far some people are prepared to go to buy the latest gadgets. To get the newest piece of technology, (how does taking a photo that moves improve your life?), when their health and wellbeing is put on the back burner.
If you can do what it takes to save up to buy a car, house, new phone, holiday, etc. then you CAN do what it takes to achieve your body transformation goal(s).
It’s all down to you finding the reason WHY it is important to you to do that.
My WHY has many facets to it.
#1 I abused my poor body relentlessly for the close to 20 years with overtraining and binging and purging. I need to give my body as much opportunity to heal itself as I can.
#2 A very important person in my life passed away in 2011 from cancer. The muscle wasting from cancer was horrendous. Training gave me mental and physical strength to get through an incredibly tough time.
#3. To set an example to anyone who cares to follow what I am doing that it is possible to change your destiny. Life can be pretty shit sometimes but it is up to you how you react. Do you throw in the towel or do you pick yourself up and keep on fighting (living).
(The thinnest part of my upper arm was the same diameter as my wrist....that is NOT normal and NOT healthy)
(work in progress but this body can deadlift 100kg! Happy Days :-) )
Just like doing what you needed to do to get that car wasn’t easy, achieving your transformations goals isn’t either.
But I will tell you this…. it is bloody well worth it!!!
